Sport i Bilder
“Sport i Bilder” (“Sport in Pictures”) was a Norwegian sports magazine published from 1979 to 1982.
It succeeded the football-focused magazine Fotballrevyen (1976–1979), which bore a strong resemblance to the British magazine Shoot! in both format and tone. While Sport i Bilder expanded its coverage to include other sports, such as athletics and winter sports, football remained the central focus throughout its run.
The magazine was known for its rich photojournalism, often presenting full-page images and action-packed spreads that visually captured the drama and excitement of sport. In addition to its visual appeal, it featured guest contributions from a number of well-known athletes, including American speed skater Eric Heiden, and footballers such as Osvaldo Ardiles, Ray Clemence, David Johnson, and Ray Wilkins.
1979/80

Between 1979 and 1980, the Norwegian sports magazine Sport i Bilder (“Sport in Pictures”) issued a team card series featuring full-colour squad photographs. These cards were included as inserts in the magazine and typically measured around 10 x 7.5 cm (postcard size). Each card featured a professional team, with the photo printed on the front and a plain reverse, often bearing traces of the adhesive used to attach it to the magazine.
In total, the series consists of 20 team cards, showcasing clubs from four countries:
🇬🇧 11 English teams
🇩🇪 4 German teams
🇳🇴 3 Norwegian teams
🇳🇱 2 Dutch teams
The cards are generally marked with an issue reference (e.g. “3/80” refers to Sport i Bilder issue 3 from 1980), rather than being sequentially numbered. However, two of the cards are unnumbered: Moss FK and West Bromwich Albion.
Notably, the Moss FK card includes Einar Aas, who had signed with Bayern Munich on 1 July 1979. To maintain consistency in the series, the website Vintage Football Cards has opted to assign these unnumbered cards to the two missing positions in the set:
Moss FK is placed as 7/80
West Bromwich Albion is placed as 18/80
Number in set: 20
