Rumania Rumania were drawn with Brazil, England and Czechoslovakia in Group C. They lost 1-0 to England, then came back from 1-0 down to beat Czechoslovakia 2-1. So, it all came down to their last Group game, against Brazil! They lost 3-2, thereby missing out on the Quarter Finals. This was Rumania's first Finals tournament for 32 years, and their last until 1990. Since 1990 they have been regular finalists. Scorers: Dumitrache (2), Neagu, Dembrovschi. |
