FKS World Cup Soccer Stars - Mexico 70
Italy Italy played a safe (may we say boring?) set of games in Group B to qualify top of the group. They defeated Sweden 1-0, then drew 0-0 against both Uruguay and Israel. However, they hit their straps after the Group stage, defeating hosts Mexico 4-1 in the Quarter Finals, and then West Germany 4-3 AET in the Semi Finals. In the semi-final Italy took the lead after 7 minutes, only to see West Germany draw equal in injury time. There were then 5 goals in extra time. In the Final Brazil were too good, defeating the Italians 4-1. Italian scorers: Riva (3), Rivera (2), Boninsegna (2), Domenghini, Burgnich + 1 own goal (Peņa, Mexico) |
